Allergic to Shavings ?

We got an email asking whether our shavings are dust free the other day, but our reply bounced , so if you've come back to us Charlotte, we can tell you that our shavings are as dust-free as possible, but perhaps if your horse is very sensitive, you might like to consider paper based bedding instead, which we can supply for you.

Anyone Fancy a Pint ?

Recently someone noticed that we mentioned that Dram liked Guinness as an occasional treat, and she got in touch with us because her saddler had recommended that she give her underweight mare a pint of Guinness every day to build her up. We thought it was worth mentioning that we only give this to our horse once a week as as special treat and then only because he used to be a bit anaemic, and as the old wives used to know, there's lots of iron in stout, which is why they all used to drink it when they were pregnant. If horse is underweight we usually recommend a good quality balancer such as 'Equilibra'. Of course, you should always have a chat with your vet as well if you are at all concerned about the condition of your horse.
